ARTIST
ATSUKO YAMASHITA
Born in Aichi, Japan in 1993. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018 with a major in oil painting. She consistently depicts "happiness without disturbance" by creating parallel worlds based on her childhood experiences into paintings with soft, drawing-like brushstrokes while using oil and Japanese painting materials. He is the 35th Holbein Scholarship recipient. Major solo exhibitions include "Veil of the Kingdom" (GINZA SIX Ginza Tsutaya Art Wall, Tokyo, 2022), "once upon a time" (NADiff A/P/A/R/T, Tokyo, 2021), "Utopia" (TAKU SOMETANI GALLERY, Tokyo, 2020), "HER" ( TAKU SOMETANI GALLERY, Tokyo, 2019), "once upon a time" (NADiff A/P/A/R/T, Tokyo, 2021), etc. Major group exhibitions include "Shiki Gallery Opening Exhibition" (SAN GALLERY, Taiwan, 2022), " Ampersand": A Song of the Old Image World (Tokyo Gallery + BTAP, Beijing, China, 2022), "TAION: when we talk about our world" (Spiral Garden, Tokyo, 2021), and many others. His works are in the public collection of Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art.
